Unconscious Bias

Diversity is about ensuring you have enough difference within your organisation so you are set up solve today’s complex business challenges. Inclusivity is valuing the people you have.

We support businesses in creating a culture in which people feel able to show up as themselves, where diversity of thought is valued and where people are cherished. We recognise that creating diverse and inclusive organisations is not necessarily an easy path and we help businesses to navigate this complexity, learning the skills required for everyone to be able to step into their inclusive leadership.

To be a business leader in today’s world, it’s vital that we reflect the society we are serving. To ensure this, Diversity and Inclusion needs to sit at the heart of business strategy. In addition to attracting and retaining the best talent, a more diverse workforce and inclusive environment will also help you to:

Attract new clients:

a D&I statement will increasingly become part of your business strategy and purpose. Put simply, being clear on your strategy will help you to win business

Better understand your audience:

having a wider range of experiences within your agency will give you new perspectives, adding more depth to your customer insight

Increase productivity:

Reducing our unconscious biases will help to ensure that we recruit the best talent and an inclusive environment means employees feel valued, which leads to greater productivity.

We want to create a workplace where difference and belonging are so embedded in how we do things that we don't need to keep championing it.

Our Unconscious Bias workshop (Diversity 3.0) is the first step on your journey to a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

Diversity 3.0 workshop (Tackling Unconscious Bias)

The kick-off on your journey to a more diverse and inclusive workplace, embedding why D&I are so important and how we might inadvertently be getting in the way.

Workshop

Half-day

The workshop was a great eye-opener to the unconscious bias we all need to be aware of. It was incredibly interesting to consider the real business case for inclusivity... Its content has a far greater reach, making you think about how your small unconscious actions could alienate individuals in your team, reducing their motivation and increase churn.

Deep Dives

An opportunity to explore different diversity metrics in a deeper way (e.g. ethnicity, neurodiversity) alongside co- facilitators from those minority groups. We will share our own personal journeys, look at the barriers these groups face in the workplace and end with actionable change you can take as an organisation and individual.

Workshop

90 minutes

up to 20 people

The Hobbs Consultancy developed the Deep Dives training programme for us, as a next step in our diversity training journey, having already successfully undertaken Unconscious Bias training together twice before. Covering a range of diversity metrics, training content and workshop and discussion exercises were developed to make the training as impactful and useful as possible, in a sensitive way. The training has been really well received by our staff, who found it authentic and thought provoking. The personal element of these workshops really touched people, the openness of the facilitators and the safe space to learn about and discuss some difficult subjects. Staff have also reported they feel they now have a better awareness of discrimination, the barriers to inclusion and actionable steps to ensuring inclusion in the workplace and in the creation of advertising.
