Description
About one in five pregnancies end in miscarriage or baby loss. Worldwide that is 23 million miscarriages every year, or, about 44 pregnancy losses every minute. Yet this common occurrence is often completely invisible in the workplace given many women don't tell their employees about their pregnancies until post key scans.
We're still speaking to women who are going through the loss of their baby silently, or unbelievably, miscarrying in the workplace without being permitted to go home!
The aim of this module is to up-skill line managers to be able to confidently manage and support their direct reports through miscarriage and baby loss. It is also for any employee who wants to better understand how to support their colleagues through the difficult experience of baby loss.
We will share the experience of our parental coaching team who have taken 100's of people through the parental leave transition and themselves experienced miscarriage, and use this to give you practical tips that you can use in the workplace to support your colleagues.
We hope that you will leave this module:
-
-
Understanding (in detail) the physical & emotional experiences that a colleague might be going through.
-
Considering practical ways of making the workplace more supportive
-
Minimising triggers in the workplace (including those you wouldn’t automatically consider)
-
Feeling confident you can talk with a colleague without fear & without tiptoeing around the topic
