Diversity & Inclusion Lunch and Learn delivered by The Hobbs Consultancy
The Hobbs Consultancy are a leading diversity & inclusion consultancy whose founding clients were within the advertising & media and FMCG industries in London. Having delivered in Ireland in 2018 and 2019, we are now passionate about developing our Ireland based team. We want to invite you along to meet us…
Our vision is of a workplace where diversity of thought is valued and people are cherished. We recognise that creating diverse and inclusive organisations is not necessarily an easy path and we help businesses to navigate this complexity, learning the skills required for everyone to be able to step into their inclusive leadership.
Rather than lecturing on why you should do this, or telling you what to do, we create conversations so that people come to their own ‘why’ and ‘how’ – creating sustainable change.
We’d like to invite you to experience our approach to D&I by joining us for an extended D&I lunch and learn in Dublin with two workshops and a lunch time networking opportunity.
12.00-13.00: Authentic Leadership
We will explore the concept of authenticity, which is absolutely central to an inclusive workplace. If we recruit diverse teams but those people cannot be themselves, then what is the point? Instead how do we all show up, live brave and allow ourselves to be seen?
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the difference between authenticity and self-monitoring
2. Understand what happens when we don’t process our emotions
3. Learn simple methods to be with our difficult emotions
4. Translate your learnings in to the workplace and in to our teams
13.00 – 13.30: Lunch and Networking
13.30 – 14.30: The Courage to Engage with Diversity and Inclusion
Roxanne Hobbs and Derval Chambers-Petit will explore why D&I is important from a business, emotional and personal case. They will take a look at what courageous leadership is and what happens in its absence. Finally they will pull all of this together, demonstrating how to step in the courage required to truly make a difference by being conscious of our bias, putting our armoury aside and creating trusting workplaces where everyone feels able to be themselves.
Learning Outcomes:
• An understanding of how trust is built and destroyed in the workplace
• Understanding of how we armour up and how that gets in the way of our authenticity
• Tools and techniques, they can use, starting now, to step in to their courage
