Hi everyone!
Just a quick note from us to wish you all a happy new year! Many of team THC have had a tiring, covidy Christmas so we invite you all to take it easy on yourselves in 2022, especially this January. This might not be the time for big intention setting. We're thinking about what we want to achieve this year AND we're thinking about what we need to do to look after ourselves this month.
Upcoming events: FREE WEBINAR - Healthy Dialogue or Cancel Culture?
12th January @12pm
Last year it felt, increasingly, like there was a prohibition on debate and discussion. Are we, in fact, getting more intolerant of difference? Disagreement seems to be pitched in the media as a face off between two opposing sides. This makes it more likely to be about who you are, rather than what you are saying. For us, at the heart of diversity and inclusion is the ability to have difficult discussions in a positive and healthy way. We have long believed that the root of change is courageous conversation and we will be stepping in to one of these next Wednesday with Adé...
'Cancel culture' is a modern form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles – whether it be online, on social media, or in person. Those subject to this ostracism are said to have been “cancelled”.
In this dialogue, we will explore the impact of cancel culture. Does it create systemic change and eradicate unpopular and unjust behaviour? Or does it limit constructive dialogue that could create true sustainable change. We will speak to the fear of engaging in conversation - and the barriers in the way of healthy dialogue.
What is the impact of shutting down? How can we enter conversations with the armour off, willing to learn and grow? And whose responsibility is this? We will acknowledge polarising topics and suggest tools we can use to keep the conversation going about them, including boundaries, the 3 levels of listening, empathy and self compassion.

New e-learning module:
We are very happy to release our Social Mobility in the Workplace e-learning module!
Social class is an often hidden but incredibly important element of diversity. It also seems to be the least mentioned metric of them all.
Is your industry made up of people from a wide variety of backgrounds? Or do you all share a similar background? Does your culture truly welcome everyone, encouraging social mobility so that everyone can be successful there?
It is becoming increasingly hard to climb the social mobility ladder, and to out-earn one's parents. Each consecutive generation is finding this harder, and it's particularly true for those in the lower and middle social classes. Following the Covid pandemic, once again we are seeing inequalities widen.
We invite you to make a difference in enhancing the possibilities for social mobility via opportunities in your workplace.
Sign up to the module here.
What we do:
One of the casualties of the pandemic has been our annual brochure. I have 500 printed copies of a very beautiful and very expensive 2020 brochure in my study still. It's a sore point... Most of our work with clients is bespoke now - we listen to your DEI needs and provide tailored solutions. However, we also know it is helpful for you to have an overview of what our offering is. Instead of a shopping list or brochure, we have pulled together this brief overview.
Do get in touch if you would like to have a conversation about how we can help you in 2022.
Take care,
Team THC xx
