The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.

Who are we?
We are a culture change consultancy. We work with our clients to co-create sustainable culture change through bespoke facilitation, workshops, coaching, events and e-learning.
Our focus areas are DEI, Mental Health and Resilience, High Performance and Positive Impact.
Why are we different?
Behaviours, thoughts AND feelings:
Our understanding of how these interact is critical to sustainable change.
No shame or blame:
We do not believe that shame has a place in the training room. We all understand shame and also have done our own internal work on these subjects.
Thorough evaluation:
We need to measure reactions, learnings and behaviour changes. We need to understand the impact on business results.
Coaching not telling:
Telling people what to do doesn't lead to long term, behavioural change. We adopt a coaching style so people work out the next steps themselves. We are all professionally certified coaches.
Diversity of experience:
Our diverse coaching community is a part of the business, not just a network of associates. We involve them deeply in our thinking and learn from each other.
Lead from heart:
We help you develop the skills that the machines can't master. An important part of that is 'doing the work' so we avoid leading from hurt – a process that all of us at THC have been through.
We started The Hobbs Consultancy because we were sure that we could do better for our female talent. We wanted to support women through their maternity transition and into leadership positions. We soon realised that it was not only women who had additional barriers in the way of their success and that by focusing solely on the individuals, we weren’t ensuring sustainable change.
Since 2012 we have helped many individuals and systems move from insight to real action and behavioural and sustainable change.
When we launched it was difficult getting inclusion and diversity on the agenda. I felt like people knew it was important but didn't see it as a priority. It was amazing to watch the conversation gain in attention and importance. Unfortunately the space has become politicised of late. Politics aside, companies are facing unprecedented change. We have had to evolve, as have the companies that we work for.
Automation and AI are reshaping jobs and processes. Employees are overwhelmed and scared of how the changes might impact their jobs. Consequently there is rising disengagement and declining trust.
We need leaders who can rehumanise the workplace and create sustainable cultural change.
Bringing in heart-led leadership is the only way we’ll be able to do this. This isn’t to say we leave previous paradigms behind - we are bringing in a new tool rather than throwing out the old.
Many organisations want to create change but they are not utilising the whole of human experience. We have thoughts and behaviours, but we also have feelings. Sustainable change comes from understanding how all of these align around a purpose or a change. We need to create the space to emotionally connect with ‘why’ this is important rather than simply tell them.
In order to meaningfully tackle EDI, create mentally healthy and high performing teams that create a positive impact we need to take the armour off and fully engage with our hearts.
The term “soft skills” was coined by the US military to differentiate these to the “hard skills” of machinery. Our experience has been that the so-called soft skills are the hardest things you will ever have to execute. We’re here alongside you to support every step of the way.
